Do you feed your pet the best food? How do you know? What are some ways to restrain my pet if they get hurt? Pets are a major component of most families in our community and across the country. The pet industry is a $72 billion industry in the United States and offers a variety of careers from a veterinarian to a nutritionist, breeder, or care giver. In this course, we will learn some basic hands-on animal restraints, health care procedures (vaccinations, sutures, and nail trimming), and some basics about animal nutrition and diets.

Instructor bio: Erika Schenk is the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resource teacher at Mankato Area Public School where she teaches courses relating to animal science, plant science, food science and natural resources.
