  • Masters Swimming Program

    Ages 18 and Up, Under 18 must be accompanied by adult Payment options - $40 monthly (Automatic payment on the 1st of each month of the session) $5 drop-in fee (Processed at the pool. Cash, credit, or check). Card payments can be saved to make future drop-in payments without a physical card. Designed swim workouts, not swimming lessons. Lanes are divided by ability, and workouts are scaled to each lane. Each workout varies in distance, swim strokes, drills, and speed. Mankato Community Education and Recreation is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for participants, staff and the community we serve by following guidance from the Minnesota Departments of Health and Education. Aquatic programs are held at the Mankato East High School Pool. Please park in the far east parking lot near Thomas Park and enter the building through Door 9.
  • Water Aerobics, Lap Swim, and Water Walking

    Ages 18 and Up | Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult Join us for a variety of aquatic fitness opportunities tailored to suit your individual needs! Whether you’re participating in water aerobics, lap swimming, or water walking, all workouts are self-paced and scalable for every ability level. No swimming ability is required for Water Aerobics, and both shallow and deep-water options are available. Expectant mothers are welcome! Additional Details: Check-In: All pool users must check in with the lifeguard upon arrival. Punchcards: Convenient punchcards are housed at the pool and expire one year from the date of purchase. Drop-In Option: Not ready to commit? A $5 drop-in fee is available for those who prefer flexibility over a punchcard. Location: Aquatic programs are held at the Mankato East High School Pool.   • Water Safety Instructor ® Course

    Earn your certification to teach American Red Cross swimming and water safety, and gain the skills needed to teach courses and make presentations to swimmers of every age and ability. Through our Aquatic Instructor Training program, you can help recreational swimmers meet their goals, refine their skills and stay safe in, on, and around water. Water Safety Instructor (WSI) ® course trains instructor candidates to teach all of the courses presented in the Swimming and Water Safety program to all age groups; learn-to-swim courses including Parent and Child Aquatics, Preschool Aquatics, Learn-to-Swim Levels 1-6, Adult Swim, and private swimming lessons. This certification is the gold standard and provides the most comprehensive training for swim instructors. Pre-requisites Front crawl - 25 yds Back crawl - 25 yds Breaststroke - 25 yds Elementary backstroke - 25 yds Sidestroke - 25 yds Butterfly - 15 yds Maintain position on back for 1 minute in deep water Tread water for 1 minute This is a blended learning course. Students will do online work on their own and work on in-water and class management skills during in-person sessions.
