  • 7th Grade Volleyball Camp

    Attention incoming 7th grades. Join Coach Hassig at PWMS for an opportunity to help get you ready for the upcoming volleyball season. In this camp, you will work on individual skills like serving, passing, setting, and hitting while learning the fundamentals of rotations. This is a great way to help get you in shape and give you some extra practice before the season starts on Monday, August 30.

    This camp is for Cougar Girls Basketball players entering grades 7-12. The focus of this camp is individual development of footwork, passing, catching, shooting, and other skills related to the game.   • Cougar Volleyball Camp- Grades 5-12

    Volleyball session is right around the corner. Come join us to work on individual and team skills. We will focus on a variety of items while having some fun at the same time. This is a great time to come and refine your playing skills to help you become the best volleyball player you can be. Knee pads can be brought but not required. Bring a water bottle with athletes name on it. Register soon for space is limited.   • Mankato Boys Lacrosse

    Lacrosse is a unique blend of many other sports. Lacrosse is statistically the most accomplished sport to help develop the multi-sport athlete. The Mankato Boys High School Summer camp is available for new and returning athletes with a focus on lacrosse specific skill development and lacrosse concepts. Expert coaching and a high player to coach ratio ensures all athletes will develop lacrosse specific skills in preparation for participation with Boys High School Lacrosse in Mankato.   • Mankato East Boys Basketball Camp

    The East Basketball High School Camp subscribes to the theory that “Basketball teams are made in the season; Basketball Players are made during the off-season.” Thus individual coaching will be received by each camper in dribbling, passing, individual offensive moves with the ball (facing the basket and with the back to the basket) , rebounding, offensive moves without the ball (cutting and how to get open), position play, screening, and emphasis on team offense skills. Each player will receive individual instruction on a daily basis designed to help correct and improve areas of weakness or inexperience. Some team concepts will be taught and emphasized as well.   • Mankato East Football Camp- Grades 3-9

    The focus of this camp is to have fun and learn the great game of football. Campers will receive instruction in basic fundamentals from Mankato East Football Coaches and Players. Older campers will be introduced to the Cougar Offense and Defense in preparation for their fall season. Each night will include individual, team, and competitive 7-on-7 sessions. Participants should bring athletic shoes or cleats, along with shorts and a water bottle.   • Mankato East Football Speed and Strength Training

    This program welcomes participants from ANY sport going into grades 8–12 in the Fall of 2021, and is aimed at improving overall speed and functional strength. Participants will work on sprint mechanics, agility, and plyometrics outdoors and also utilize the Mankato East Weight Room to develop functional and core strength. Emphasis will be on technique and participants will be able to track their speed and strength gains throughout the summer. The size of our groups will be determined by our District COVID protocols and we may create more time slots should the need arise. Students participating in this program will need indoor/outdoor shoes and athletic wear.   • Mankato East Summer H.I.T. Program for Female Athletes

    Are you looking for an edge for next season in your sport(s)? Are you frustrated that you are not able to meet some of your athletic goals? Well, we have a solution for you. For the first time at East HS we are offering a program just for female athletes. It is called H.I.T. which stands for High-Intensity Training. The goal of this program is to develop core body strength. This will be accomplished by our two-phase program. Phase 1 will have athletes in the weight room working on developing core strength and power. Phase 2 will work on developing speed, agility, and cardio which will also add to your body’s ability to increase its total core strength. For your $40 you will receive: •8 weeks of instruction and the use of East facilities that will be reserved for female athletes only during our time slot. •A training booklet that you will use to log your daily workouts in. At the end of the program, you will be able to take your training booklet with you so it can be followed during the school year if you don’t have a program already to follow. The booklet lays out this program day by day. •A limited-edition t-shirt This program is open to any female athlete from any sport. Space is limited so sign up quickly.     Individual skills camp for athletes entering 4-9th grade. Athletes will be coached by West high school coaches and athletes. Will work on shooting, passing, ball handling, 3v3, 5v5, will be featured at camp. All athletes will receive a t-shirt.   • Mankato West Football Strength, Speed, and Conditioning

    This program focuses on improving overall physical strength, core strength, linear/lateral speed, agility, and anaerobic fitness. Participants will spend half their time outside working on linear speed/lateral speed/conditioning. The other half of the time will be spent in the weightroom emphasizing techniques on lifts, overall strength, and core strength. Each athlete will receive a personalized lifting sheet based on the participants current strength. The program focuses on creating or enhancing explosiveness for all athletes in all sports at all levels. TYPICALLY THIS CAMP IS FOR PARTICIPANTS ENTERING GRADES 7-12. HOWEVER, DUE TO POTENTIAL COVID RESTRICTIONS ON PODS, INVITES FOR CAMP WILL BE SENT OUT DIRECTLY TO ATHLETES AND TIME SLOTS ASSIGNED.   • Mankato West Football Youth Camp- Grades 3-9

    Join the Scarlet coaching staff, current and former Scarlet players at football camp this summer! Offensive and defensive fundamentals will be highlighted at this non-contact camp along with training on proper tackling techniques. This camp features individual teaching time, along with team sessions that will culminate in competitive 7 on 7 game situations. This camp is for those who are interested in sharpening their football skills. Workout clothing will be required (shorts, t-shirt, and football shoes or other appropriate footwear). No helmets or pads will be needed.     Mankato West Girls Basketball Summer Workouts Tuesdays & Thursdays, June 8 - July 29 Future scarlet girls basketball players are invited to join the West coaching staff for our summer workouts at the West High School Gym. For older players (entering grades 8-12) this will include 1 hour in the weightroom and 1 hour of skills work in the gym. For our younger group (entering grades 4-7) we practice individual and team skills through games, drills, and scrimmages. Entering Grades 8-12 8:00-10:00AM (12 workouts) - no workouts July 4 or 6 Entering Grades 4-7 10:00-11:30AM (10 workouts) - no workouts June 22, 24, July 4, 6 Fee: $60 per player

    Sharpen your soccer skills and put your ball to your feet at the Mankato Soccer Skills Camp. Register now for the Co-Ed Mankato Soccer Skills Camp specially designed for 8-12 year old girls and boys. You’ll learn training techniques and tactical awareness that will expand your game knowledge and help you grow as a player. No previous soccer experience required. We will teach you all that you need to know about soccer at this camp. A full coaching staff including Head Coach of Mankato West High School, Dan Blaisdell and JV Coach, Carrlin Meier will lead you in skill-based training, fitness and conditioning, games and fun activities.
