Basic Archery Instructor

This is a certification course for adults interested in teaching Basic Archery Skills, using the NASP (National Archery In Schools Program) curriculum. This full day course runs from 8:00 am - 5:30 pm at Lincoln Community Center. Successful completion of this course allows adults to lead instructional content, using the curriculum and authorized equipment. Bring your own lunch and beverages. There will be a lunch break, but not long enough to leave campus.

Clay, Glaze & Firing Supplies For LCC Pottery Studio (Consumables)

Fees are for a 25 lb block of Clay, (Glaze and Firing also included). Clay purchase is for use in the Pottery Studio at Lincoln Community Center (110 Fulton Street). You also have access to our potter’s wheels, slab roller, extruder, glazes, greenware storage, tools and electric kilns. When your clay supply is gone, you can purchase a new block of clay. The studio has a designated area where artists can store their unused clay supply. Glazes and firing are included with the clay cost. The studio, managed by Mankato Community Education Leisure + Enrichment Program keeps in inventory high quality supplies and equipment for artist use. The studio and CE cannot be held responsible for work that in the process of drying or firing is damaged or broken. The studio will be closed on days / evenings when Mankato Area Public School closes due to weather related closures.

Everybody Has A Story: Writing Your Memoir

Many people have experiences that they'd like to share in writing with friends, family, or the public, but they don't know how to begin. This course is an excellent value at $18.75 a session! This is an ongoing course in which we'll read short excerpts from classic memoirs and do writing exercises in order to help students isolate what stories they want to tell and how they want to tell them. We'll examine ways of organizing memories into a narrative, practice adding lively details, consider whether there are themes that should be highlighted, and noodle around with how to tell the whole truth when you don't know it. Students who have not yet started a project are welcome, as are those with writing already underway. J. Anderson has taught composition and literature at the College of St. Catherine, The Loft, St. Louis Park Schools, and other schools and non-profits. She worked in community relations for Barnes & Noble and was the director of the Westminster Town Hall Forum. She writes the "Smaller" column for the St. Peter Herald.

We brought dance back in the Fall and we hope to keep going strong into the new year. Sign up with a partner or come solo! if you do not have a partner, one will be assigned to you. INSTRUCTORS Brian & Lynette Dawley Our teachers have been dancing and competing together for over 16 years. They have taken over 2,000 hours of private coaching from some of the top Ballroom instructors in the United States as well as Canada, the United Kingdom and Argentina. SO MANY DANCES TO CHOOSE FROM! SIGN UP FOR ONE OR TRY THEM ALL! Beginning East Coast Swing - February 19 - March 22 (6:40 - 7:30 pm) Get moving with triple rhythm swing! Learn the basic steps in this fun, energetic dance! This is a great social dance for smaller floors and can be danced to a variety of music! Intro To Nightclub Two Step - February 19 - March 22 (7:40 - 8:30 pm) Join us for a fun date night as we learn the basics of nightclub two step. Learn soft, flowing patterns that glide across the floor as we dance to all those great ballads! Line Dance - March 26 - April 16 (6:40 - 7:30 pm) Shake off the winter blues with a line dance class! You will learn basic, beginner line dances to a variety of popular music. This is great exercise and you don’t need a partner! Wedding Dance Sampler - March 26 - April 16 (7:40 - 8:30 pm) Is there a wedding dance in your future? Feeling a little apprehensive about stepping out onto the dance floor? This class is for you! “Sample” three popular wedding dances: foxtrot, rumba and swing. You will learn the basic steps and a few simple moves in each dance. You will also be introduced to the concepts of lead, follow and frame to ensure your success on the dance floor and give you a night to remember! Couples and singles are welcome! Open Pottery Studio (Studio Use Card)

Purchase a punch card and clay coupon (each sold separately) to use the Pottery Studio facilities and supplies. Each visit counts as one use. Punch cards and clay/glaze card are valid for one year from the purchase date. To participate in studio activities, all users must purchase a Consumables Clay Card. This card covers 25 pounds of clay, access to studio glazes, and space in the kiln for firing. Our pottery lab is equipped with potter's wheels, slab roller, extruder, hand building tools, glazes, greenware storage, and electric kilns. This is not an instructional class. Artists should be able to use the studio and equipment independently, however a studio supervisor will be present for technical questions. In our studio, you pay based on use. We only allow clay sold by our studio. We know the products we use / sell to students are safe for our kilns and will produce a good quality product. The studio, managed by Mankato Community Education Leisure + Enrichment Program keeps in inventory high quality supplies and equipment for artist use. The studio and CE cannot be held responsible for work that in the process of drying or firing is damaged or broken. Our studio is available for independent artist use in part because of volunteers and funding provided by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Solo Studio Time For Artists at Lincoln’s Pottery Studio Are you a working artist who does not have a home studio and needs uninterrupted studio time to access equipment and complete work for your next deadline? We have just what you need at the Lincoln Community Center Pottery Studio. Packages give the artist exclusive access to the studio and equipment. No instructional guidance, facility use expectations enforced, skilled use of studio equipment required & thorough clean up after each use expected. Use Packages Available for $100 per month Includes: 5 hour studio sessions available (day & evening reservations available) Private use of studio and studio equipment Guaranteed 4 sessions per month (up to 5 hours per session) 1 day a week, for 5 consecutive weeks (unless holiday or building closed) Clay, glaze & firing sold separately ($30 per 25 lb block of clay) No outside clay or glaze allowed Contact Mel Schmidt to reserve and schedule your sessions. mschmi3@isd77.org or call 507-387-5501 and ask for Mel. Kilns fired every 2-3 weeks, giving artists the ability to complete work on deadline. Limited storage included with purchase of private studio use package.
