Parents are strongly encouraged to reserve this week for summer lessons if you plan on enrolling your student in band in Fall 2024.   • Design Your Own T-Shirt!

    Have you ever wanted a T-shirt with your very own design on it? Now’s your chance! Students will work to design their own custom T-shirt using digital graphic design tools. A professional screen printing company will turn the design into a real life T-shirt and ship it to your house! Experienced instructors will teach students how to run the software and guide them as they turn their visions into a reality! No prior experience needed! The address of the person enrolling students will be used to mail the finished T-shirt, be sure your address is up to date! This camp is presented by COR Robotics. The mission of COR Robotics is to inspire a passion for robotics in students, with the hope that the student will participate in their local FIRST programs, and further develop a passion for STEM fields/robotics.
  • Diving - Mankato Middle/High School Team Summer Enrichment

    Mankato East and West 7-12th grade boys and girls who previously competed on their respective school teams or who are new to the district with prior competitive diving experience. Those with no prior diving experience may contact the coaches to discuss appropriateness.
  • Drone Racing Camp

    Students will learn how to fly like the pros in the Drone Racing League by training on a flight simulator. After learning drone safety and maintenance, students will take a drone to the skies and compete in numerous races and challenges. Led by experienced instructors, students will leave camp with the skills and knowledge to pilot drones and keep them running. The drones used in camps have cameras, and are perfect for entry level pilots. No prior experience needed! This camp has two cost options: $110 - Instruction and a drone to use while in camp $170 - Instruction and you can bring home your drone to own after camp is complete This camp is presented by COR Robotics.     HOME ALONE SAFETY Melanie Schmidt (Instructor) Grades 2-6 & parent (or adult guardian) 1 Session Staying home alone for the first time is an opportunity eagerly anticipated by most kids; but with opportunity comes responsibility. This course covers a variety of common scenarios and topics specific to youth preparing to stay home alone or stay home with younger siblings. Topics include, but are not limited to: sibling conflict, stranger danger, healthy choices, problem solving, and identifying emergencies. Each child is encouraged to attend with 1 adult.

    Dive into the captivating world of creativity and technology at our Intro to Digital Art summer camp! This immersive three-day program combines hands-on learning with engaging digital tools, offering a dynamic journey into digital art. Students will explore the fundamentals of digital drawing and apply what they learn to an exciting real world application. Through a partnership with No Grit No Pearl, students will be able to get their favorite design printed on a canvas or t-shirt which will get shipped to their house after the camp! Intro to Digital Art is the perfect blend of fun, skill development, and boundless imagination, providing young artists with the tools and confidence to bring their visions to life.   • Lancer Cadets: Marching Band Camp Grades 7 + 8

    Students enrolled in Lancer Cadets will have fun as they learn marching and music fundamentals and work toward an end-of-week performance. Participants will also be invited to perform with the Mankato 77 Lancers at a performance this fall! We have openings in percussion, woodwind, brass, and colorguard sections.

  • Middle School After School Clubs (sign up to receive email when clubs are open to registration)

    Until the catalog is completed and ready for registrations you can sign up to receive an email to alert you when clubs are open for registration. These clubs fill up fast! We will use the email associated with your account through eleyo. Please make sure it is up to date. Middle School After School (MSAS) clubs offer a fun opportunity for your child to spend time with their peers and meet new friends. These clubs provide a low-student pressure environment where students in grades 6-8 can strengthen their social and emotional skills. Located at Prairie Winds and Dakota Meadows Middle Schools, MSAS clubs meet once a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:20 to 5:00 pm. Clubs are theme-based, ensuring a variety of engaging activities, and always under the supervision of qualified staff. Regardless of theme, the primary focus is on making new friends and enjoying time outside the classroom in a safe, supportive setting. Registration for the Fall MSAS will open in September, with the semester running from October 7 through December 12 on school days.
  • MoonDogs Baseball Camp

    Skills and fun! Come learn with the Mankato MoonDogs coaching staff and players! Open to beginners and more experienced players. Athletes will be divided into groups according to age and skill level. All campers will receive a ticket to attend the game on the night of the 2nd day of camp. Please bring a glove and wear athletic/comfortable clothing. If student's have rubber cleats they can bring those - NO metal cleats allowed.

  • Private Swim Lessons

    Individual and small group private lessons available. Individual lessons are one-on-one instruction for those who desire individual instruction, or who just need to “catch up” their skills in order to join a standard class. Small group lessons are a small group (2 - 3 students) that you create, Community Education does not create small groups. Small group lessons are perfect for friends or siblings that are around the same swimming level. Classes are adapted and modified for each individual or small group. Each lesson is 30 minutes long. Each lesson will have its own section. You can sign up for as many or as few lessons as you would like. Please make sure to select the type of lesson (individual or small group) at checkout. Email tdupon1@isd77.org with any questions. Aquatic programs are located at the Mankato East High School Pool. Please park in the far east parking lot, next to Thomas Park, and enter the building through Door 9, located on the northeast side of the building.

  • Red Cross Advanced Babysitter Training

    The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training course provides youth ages 11–15 with the information and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children. Participants develop skills in leadership and professionalism, basic care, safety and safe play and first aid. Participants earn certification in pediatric first aid, CPR, and AED. Participants should bring a water bottle and a cold lunch.

    Summer Chess Tourney - Let The Games Begin!

    All grades welcome! This regional chess tournament is for any chess player in grades K-12 who is up for a good spirited, recreational, tournament play experience! The contest will be held at East High School. Enter through door # 1. Please pre-register, so we can assure we have enough players for a positive experience (for all). Please follow this schedule for a positive game day experience.   • VEX IQ Robotics At LCC

    VEX IQ Robotics (Elementary Division) will begin in September with a MANDATORY Meeting on Tuesday, September 10, from 7-8 pm at Lincoln Community Center in Room 157. Registration is limited and open ONLY to youth currently enrolled in grades 4-6 in Fall 2024. Due to program demand and VEX guidelines, grade requirements will be enforced. We will form teams of 2-3 students who will collaborate on all aspects of building, programming and driving the bot used to compete in virtual and /or in person VEX IQ competitions (with the goal) to qualify for the State VEX IQ championship in Spring of 2025 (date TBA). This is a competitive experience. Season runs from September - March (end date TBA and determined by qualifying success at region and / or state championships). Transportation to out of town contests (including state) is provided by parents of team members. Information re: tournaments, qualifying results and formats for competition have yet to be announced. Information will be shared with teams as it becomes available. The VEX IQ program is an early experience for elementary youth, interested in competing in VRC (VEX Robotics Challenge) in middle school or high school. VEX IQ does have a qualifying experience for the World Championship (Spring 2025). Youth / teams that qualify and want to participate in the World Championship (Dallas, TX) will do so on their own via family and team fundraisers, led by the team parents. Community Education will pay team registration fees for invitationals and the state championship, as well as finance all necessary equipment for a season of competitive play.   • VEX IQ Summer Camp

    VEX IQ is a Robotics Education program for youth in grades 4-6. During the school year, youth work in teams to build, program, drive, document progress and eventually compete in qualifying tournaments. This Summer 2024 our VEX IQ coaches will host 2 summer camp options. One option will be Friday mornings from 9:00 am - 10:30 am with coaches Morgan & Dustin. A second option will be Tuesday evenings from 6:00 - 7:30 pm with Coach Dave Ulrich. Only VEX IQ youth who completed in the Mankato Community Education VEX IQ Season in 2023-24 will be eligible to participate in this Summer Camp. New VEX IQ participants will be encouraged to enroll in the 2024-25 season, when registration opens in August (2024). Summer Camp is an opportunity for our current team members to keep working on their skills as young engineers and as team members, invested in continued learning, friendship, fun and mutual interest.
